Blood loss in the first 16 weeks of the pregnancy.
1 in 10 pregnancies ends in a miscarriage. A miscarriage is often caused by a predisposition disorder or an abnormality of the fetus. This usually is a chromosomal abnormality which is rosen during the fertilization. With as a result the embryo can no longer grow and will be rejected. This chromosome abnormality is rarely hereditary and mostly there are no consequences for a subsequent pregnancy.
A miscarriage is not caused by physical exertion, such as making love, falling, cycling, horseback riding or motorcycling.
Mostly the embryo is spontaneously rejected within two to four weeks after the start of the bleeding. Sometimes it might take longer, medically seen this isn't a problem. How long you want to wait for the natural process is something you need to discuss with your midwife.
After a spontaneous miscarriage, the medical induction of the miscarriage or curettage, the physical recovery progresses usually smooth. You might still have some bleeding and brown secretion for about 1 to 2 weeks. After the blood loss is stopped, the body has recovered enough to become pregnant again.
After a miscarriage it's not more difficult to get pregnant.
